FAQs
Can you change any colour to another colour?
Yes. We can wrap most vehicles from any original colour to a new one from our
swatch books: including gloss, satin, matte, and speciality finishes.
Is it permanent?
No. The wrap is fully removable, allowing you to return the vehicle to its original
colour if desired.
Does a wrap damage the paint?
No. When applied and removed correctly, wraps actually help protect the original
paint from UV exposure and light wear.
How long does a colour change wrap last?
With proper care, wraps using 3M and Avery Dennison films typically last several years.
Is wrapping cheaper than painting?
In most cases, yes. Wrapping is more cost-effective than a full respray and offers the flexibility to change colours in the future.
Will PPF change the look of my truck?
No, PPF is designed to be nearly invisible. It enhances gloss while protecting the paint. Matte PPF is also available if your truck has a matte or satin finish.
What about the stainless and polished aluminium on my truck, can this be protected?
Yes, of course! Applying PPF to the aluminium and stainless sections on your truck preserves that pristine look, and saves on maintenance.
How long does PPF last on a truck?
High-quality PPF typically lasts 7–10 years with proper care. It’s resistant to yellowing, cracking, and peeling and is backed by manufacturer warranties.
How long does truck PPF installation take?
Depending on coverage, installation can take 1–3 days. Full-body or complex trucks may require additional time for proper fit and finish.
How do I maintain my vinyl wrap after installation?
To keep your vinyl wrap looking fresh, wash your car regularly with mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive materials and harsh chemicals. Please consider hand washing to preserve the finish. For long-term care, we recommend a yearly maintenance check.
Can I choose custom colors and designs for my vinyl wrap?
Of course! WANTED offers a wide range of colours and finishes, and if they don’t hit the spot, our designers can work with you to create something to match your personality and vehicle style.
Can I or do I still need to wash my car after a PPF installation?
You can wash your car as usual after a PPF installation, and we do recommend to keep the PPF in top shape. In fact, the film will make it easier to clean and will protect your car’s surface from dirt, water, and grime buildup.
I have peeling clear coat or damaged paint — can a wrap be applied over it?
In short, no. To ensure quality, durability, and a clean finish, decent paint is required before wrapping.
A wrap is only as good as the surface underneath it. If the paint isn’t healthy, the wrap won’t stick, won’t last, and won’t look ideal.
Is PPF worth it for work trucks?
Yes. PPF protects against job-site damage, frequent washing, and road wear, helping maintain a professional appearance and long-term value.
Why should PPF be applied to a boat?
PPF will protect your boat from UV exposure, saltwater corrosion, dock rash, scratches, and staining. It helps preserve the finish and appearance in harsh marine environments.
What areas of a boat can be protected with PPF?
PPF is commonly applied to bows, hull sides, rub rails, transoms, swim platforms, consoles, high-wear walk areas, and graphics, any surface exposed to impact, sun, or abrasion.
